Admin: Use of our work in essays
It has been brought to our attention that people have been quoting us in essays that they are submitting academically.
While we’re flattered that you guys believe our work to be of that high standard, we do not give bibliographies for our long posts (a lot of our work is either quoted directly from monographs for your benefit or paraphrased or even taken from websites that are more knowledgeable on the subject than we are), and are not ok with our work being used in essays (particularly without being asked) as we are not a proper academic source. We are not here for this purpose and we do not wish for you to get into trouble for having quoted us and you being pulled up for plagiarism of a particular source we have used or from this blog itself.
We would urge you to find and use the original monographs and quote those instead of quoting us to save yourself this hassle as we do not wish for any of you to get into trouble on our behalf.
To reiterate; posts we have written are not to be used as evidence in essays as we are not a good academic source for this.
Please, please use books and proper academically sourced work for your essays and not us!
